About the Creative Change Scholarship
At the Be Different Foundation, creativity can spark real change. We’re all about community, equity, and using art to move people. And we know students like you have the power to lead that movement. Created to uplift youth who use creativity as a tool for justice and storytelling, the Creative Change Scholarship represents our belief in art as a catalyst for change.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate students studying graphic design, digital media, visual communication, or a creative field. You must be at least 18 and currently enrolled at a U.S.-based college or university.
Submit a logo design in PDF, PNG, or JPG format to apply. You’ll also need to write a short reflection explaining how your design connects to our mission. We’re looking for work reflecting community, resilience, and equity. Keep your design modern, clean, and versatile. Use our color palette to stay on brand: Earthy Olive (#85805a), Soft Beige (#e3ddbe), Cream White (#fff8ef), Deep Charcoal (#2b2b2b), Medium Gray (#737373).
Make sure your design works in both color and black and white. Before starting, look at our website and social media to gather inspiration from our style and values.
To enter the Creative Change Scholarship, applicants must create a new logo for the Be Different Foundation and write a brief description of their design and its alignment with our organization’s mission. Additional fields in the Google Form submission process include personal & demographic information, academic background, creative submission details, design preferences & formatting, and a design rights release statement. Students are required to submit their designs by July 31, 2025. The Be Different Foundation team will carefully review every submission, and a scholarship winner will be announced on August 1, 2025, at 8 p.m. EST.
Behind the Scenes: Judging & Criteria
The Creative Change Scholarship award recipient will be chosen fairly and transparently. Judges will select a winner based on creativity and originality, alignment with brand values and mission, technical execution, visual impact, memorability, and platform scalability. Our scholarship winner will receive a $300 scholarship award, features on our email bulletin, LinkedIn profile, clothing pieces for an upcoming fundraiser, and additional opportunities to continue creating with us.
Celebrating the Winner
The winning design won’t just earn a scholarship — it will become a part of our story. Our organization’s logo represents our mission to foster community and connection in higher education spaces, appearing across our website, programming, and social platforms. As we launch our upcoming merchandise pop-up shop, we’re excited to showcase the selected design as a visual emblem of creativity, inclusion, and student power.
This is more than a logo — it’s an opportunity for one student to see their vision uplifted and shared with a growing community of changemakers. We can’t wait to celebrate a design that captures what it means to be bold, connected, and unapologetically different.
